Greetings for the 2012 Season and Happy 40th Birthday TSRC

pdf Download Complete Letter to Parents

Welcome to all TSRC Members and Friends of TSRC for the coming 2012 season. The club is currently preparing for another busy season. We finished the 2011 at our maximum number of 75 training members.

The club currently has a waiting list of more than 20 athletes wishing to join TSRC for 2012.

To meet the increased demand for ski race training at TSRC, your Directors have recently approved a capital expenditure program to add at least 10 new lockers to the existing clubhouse. The new lockers will be located in the current tuning area in the clubhouse. The area underneath the clubhouse will be modified to provide a safe tuning area environment for training members An on mountain storage hut, recently approved by KT, is currently being constructed to house the gates previously stored in the underneath area.

As a result of the above, TSRC will be able to increase the number of training members it can safely accommodate to 85 - an increase of 10 over the 2011 season.

Last year’s training numbers plus the waiting list takes potential 2012 number to 90-95. As a result, your Directors have resolved the following:

1. To ensure their place, existing 2011 training members, plus 2010 training members who took HSC study leave in 2011 (only a handful fall into this category) must commit to their 2012 training by the payment of a $500 deposit (per training member) payable no later than 29 February, 2012. The deposit will be credited to 2012 training fees but is non-refundable, except in the case of medical issues which precludes training or family change of circumstances – both issues are at the sole discretion of the majority of President, Club Captain and Treasurer.

2. If the above $500 deposit plus attached Application to Train in 2012 season is not received by 5pm 29 February, 2012 by the Treasurer, you will lose the right to automatically train with TSRC in 2012 and that place will be offered to new members.

3. Waitlist applicants will be offered “spare” places in early March, 2012 on a basis yet to be finalised by your Directors.

4. 2011 Training Members who did not commit to the club before 29 February, 2012 may still reapply for 2012 training, however their names will now follow the Waitlist applicants.

Your Directors believe that having early confirmation and commitment from our previous members is the fairest way to address the large demand that is being placed on TSRC and allows us to offer prospective members a definite place if one is available.

I would like to draw your attention to other items of interest:

2012 Australian Children Championships

TSRC has accepted SSA’s invitation to host the 2012 Australian Children Champs from 1-3 September at Thredbo. There will be three days of races – GS, SL and SX. It has been four years since TSRC last hosted this event. This is a major undertaking and your Directors will be looking for support from everyone to assist in the hosting of this event.

2012 Coaching

It is the Committee’s intention to re-appoint Joe Draxl as Coaching Co-ordinator for TSRC for the 2012 Season. This will be Joe’s fourth season with TSRC as Coaching Co-ordinator.

Other coaches returning to TSRC for the 2012 season are currently being finalized. We are hoping that most of last year’s coaches will return for the 2012 season.

Uniforms

All Training Members are required to own and wear the Beyond X TSRC Jacket and Pants.

The club has purchased soft shell black jacket for the FIS Training Members. This may be purchased from the club (available from the first weekend of training) and worn instead of the club jacket.

During training, Training Members may wear their race suits and short pants however these should be in club colours, where possible. FIS Training Members may wear a black outer garment during training.

Both the TSRC Jacket and soft shell jackets should have all club sponsors logos sewn onto them.

New Jackets & Pants are obtainable from Australia’s Beyond X representative, Colin Hodkinson on (02) 9440 3688 or colin@beyondx.com.au. Please order early so that Colin can import suitable stock numbers.

If you have any enquiries on Uniforms please contact Felicity Bidencope on 0419 231 490 or fbidencope@bigpond.com

Fees

The base training fees for the 2012 season are required to be approved by the AGM in March. The Directors will be recommending an increase of $200 per category – the first increase since 2009. This would take base training fees - FIS members ($3,400) and Age Group members ($3,200). Our major cost, training fees, continue to increase in excess of CPI increases.
