TSRC Clubhouse

Clubhouse Facilities

Lockers are provided for each athlete for which they must provide a padlock. The lockers  hold approximately 4 sets of skis, and shelves for other gear. Baskets/ hooks (from hardware store) can be attached on the inside of the doors to hang helmets, jackets

A magnetic key is provided at the beginning of the season for each athlete to access the clubhouse. Replacement keys cost $25.

The combination lock is not used as in the past the combination has become quickly known to others, compromising the security of the club.

Ski tuning area is for training members only – this is not for parents or siblings. All members are encouraged to learn to tune their own skis and should all have their own tuning kit. Coaches will teach the athletes how to tune their skis. Skis should be tuned so that they are in good condition for EVERY training day.

Please make sure the labelled tuning kit includes gardening gloves to protect hands, and also a substantial supply of bandaids.

Training members are not allowed to bring friends into the clubhouse nor store friends’ skis  in the club house.

There is a microwave and fridge in the clubhouse. We suggest that you have a supply of drinks and healthy snacks in your child’s locker, rather than have them line up for long periods to buy expensive and unhealthy hot chips at break times.

PS This year 2013 there is a ban on hot chips by order of head coach!

It is recommended to pack trainers and tracksuits for dry land training every day.

We also recommend that athletes dry their skis every afternoon before putting them away (or they rust), and remove their boot liners every night and take them home to dry. They often will not dry overnight inside the lockers.

Cleaning up

Athletes are responsible for keeping the clubhouse clean. If gear is left out of lockers (filed on the floor or benches!), it is very likely to disappear, be confiscated or given to the wombats.

There is a roster for groups to clean the clubhouse. Please encourage your athletes to respect their clubhouse as it is there for their benefit, and it is a shame otherwise for them to have to use valuable skiing time cleaning up instead of training.

Parents in clubhouse

We welcome parents to come in to check notice boards during the day, but are asked to avoid being in the clubhouse at peak “traffic” times. You are most welcome to email or leave a message in the office/ on the office door if you would like one of the committee or Jo to call you should the office be unattended.

We have very limited room in the clubhouse so unfortunately cannot provide any storage for parents’ skis. Ski lockers and boot lockers are available for hire in the adjacent Valley Terminal.
