TSRC is the Australian home training club for the majority of athletes in the Australian National Alpine and Skier Cross teams, and the National Age group teams who competed in European and North America during November 2011 to March 2012. This is a fantastic achievement of which everyone in the club should be immensely proud.
Interschools
The Interschools races are separate to the SSA races however the majority of our Training Members compete in these races. In 2011 TSRC Training Members were dominant on the podium in both Alpine and Skier Cross at both the NSW Champs in Perisher and National Champs at Falls Creek.
The Interschools results also demonstrates the pleasing progress made by a number of our first and second year training members. These athlete has graduated from a previously mid range skier to one highly competitive in these competitions.

Other coaches returning to TSRC for the 2012 season are currently being finalized. We are hoping that most of last year’s coaches will return for the 2012 season.
Uniforms
All members must train in their TSRC uniforms.
All Members Under 16 and younger are required to own and wear the Beyond X TSRC red and black Jacket and Pants.
FIS training members may wear the soft shell black FIS jacket and black pants. This jacket may be purchased from the club (available from the first weekend of training) and worn instead of the club jacket.
During training, Training Members may wear their race suits and short pants however these should be in club colours, where possible.
Both the TSRC Jacket and soft shell jackets should have all club sponsors logos sewn onto them.
New Jackets & Pants are obtainable from Australia’s Beyond X representative, Colin Hodkinson on (02) 9440 3688 or colin@beyondx.com.au.
The Club holds a number of new black soft shell jackets for FIS training members.
If you have any enquiries on Uniforms please contact Felicity Bidencope on 0419 231 490 or fbidencope@bigpond.com
Code of Conduct
The Directors recently reaffirmed the Club’s Code of Conduct. It is important that TSRC Training Members adhere to the Code of Conduct. Our Training Members are very visible both on the mountain and in the village, hence the Club expects a high standard of behaviour at all times.
We would ask parents to have the Training Member read the Code of Conduct before signing it in front of you, and ask that parents/guardians also sign the Code of Conduct.
Fees
The base training fees for the 2012 season were increased at the AGM to $3,400 for all age groups. Fees for the 2012 season must be paid by cheque as the Treasurer does not have any credit card processing facilities in Sydney.
The club has again included race fees for the TSRC Cup in the fees to be paid at the start of the season. Provision will be made to refund these fees should a racer provide appropriate advance notification that they will not be competing or are injured.
For other race events, including TSRC FIS races and other interstate FIS races, the Club in the past has paid the race fees, accommodation & lift tickets in advance and sought reimbursement by the members. The Club will continue to do this however reminds all members that it seeks prompt reimbursement.
A comprehensive package of Membership Forms, Training Member Waiver, Parents Waiver, Code of Conduct for members (and guardians) to complete for the 2012 season is attached to this letter.
Job Roster
As part of our contract with KT (a very comprehensive document which the Club Directors enter with KT each year), TSRC is obligated to run or assist in the running of 11 race days at Thredbo, namely:
- SCECGS Redlands Cup (10 July)
- TSRC Cup (21-22 July)
- Australian FIS National Champs (6-11 August)
- Australian Children Champs (1-3 September)
In order to run these events, the Club needs to provide significant people power. The Interschools and Redlands Cup events will require a smaller number of specialist positions (starters, chief marshals, timers) as Redlands and Interschools provide gate keepers, course workers and slippers, however TSRC Cup and National FIS Champs requires approx 25 course workers, gate keepers and slippers each day in addition to the specialist positions.
A work schedule will be put in place by the Race Volunteer Co-Ordinator, Felicity Bidencope for various events.
TSRC Website
The TSRC website is www.thredboskiracing.comThe website has been updated for the 2012 season.
The Notice Board is available for members to buy, sell and swap equipment.
Sponsorship
For the past 5 years the club’s main sponsor has been St Hilliers, a Sydney based property development company. Their Sponsorship finishes on 31 March, 2012 and they have advised that they will not be renewing it. We thank St Hilliers and Tim & Anne Marie Casey for this valued sponsorship.
TSRC is looking for a main sponsor for the 2012 season and beyond. The benefits include corporate logos on the Training members clothing and a sign on the clubrooms at the bottom of the main trail seen by tens of thousands of skiers each season.
If anyone is interested or knows of someone who is interested in being the main sponsor for TSRC please contact either Rob Schuitema or myself.
Upcoming Events
For the June long weekend, the clubhouse will be open and lockers would have been allocated with names on each locker. Training members may start storing their equipment in the clubhouse from then.
The first official training day will be Saturday 23rd June – 8am.
The Presentation of TSRC Awards for 2011 season has been set for 5pm on Saturday 7th July at the Keller. All parents and children are invited to this function.
Gabi Robertson has kindly offered to organize the Parents Cocktail Function again this year, following last year’s very successful function. The Knickerbocker Restaurant & Bar has been booked for Sunday 8th July and we are also planning a TSRC 40th birthday function on Saturday 21st July.
On behalf of my fellow Directors, we look forward to another busy and successful ski season.
